Warrick Wynne’s Poetry Pages

reading, writing and the connections

About Warrick Wynne

I am a teacher and writer based in Melbourne, Australia, with three published books, the most recent being The State of the Rivers and Streams. There are two other published collections: The Colour of Maps andLost Things & Other Poems.

My poetry often centres around landscape and the natural world, particularly the coastal zone and the rivers and streams. I’ve lived on the Mornington Peninsula south of Melbourne for many years and the Port Phillip Bay and Western Port Bay seascapes appear often in my work.

I have been widely published in Australia in small magazines and was the winner of the Red Earth Poetry Prizein 1992, the Max Harris Poetry Prize in 2003 and have been commended in several other competitions. In 2000 I was awarded an Australia Council Overseas Residency and spent time at the Tyrone Guthrie Centre in Ireland completing my third collection. My Ireland 2000 site discusses that experience.

I blog regularly about my writing and reading

This site was set up in December 2007  an experiment is using wordpress to host the web site. In 2011 I’m moving the site to WordPress completely. You can read more details about my interactions with the Internet building my poetry pages HERE
