Warrick Wynne’s Poetry Pages

reading, writing and the connections

I am a writer and teacher based in Melbourne, Australia, with three published books, the most recent being The State of the Rivers and Streams. The two other published collections are The Colour of Maps and Lost Things & Other Poems.

My poetry often centres around landscape and the natural world, particularly the coastal zone and the rivers and streams. I’ve lived on the Mornington Peninsula south of Melbourne for many years and the Port Phillip Bay and Western Port Bay seascapes appear often in my work. This site chronicles some of my writing, my reading and my thinking about writing, as well as some poetry ‘projects’ I’m interested in. I blog regularly on all those as well

Latest. Above left: Poetics of Space is an online chapbook that I published on the Amazon store in 2017. It features poems and drawings loosely connected around some key ideas about internal and external spaces. Middle: There are three poems of mine included in City of Stars, an anthology of ‘love poems for Frankston’, launched in September 2015, and you can read more about it on my blog HERE.  Right: I was delighted that my poem Immigrant House was included in a anthology for Australian kids: Our Home is Dirt by Sea, published by Walker Press
